The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales were at the Shell Factory & Nature Park in North Fort Myers on March 7, 2019. Hundreds turned out to see the horses parade around and take selfies with them.
The massive horses visit Southwest Florida every year. They’ve been the living symbol for Anheuser-Busch beer company since 1933.
All appearances are free. Each stop features eight horses (a full hitch) and the famous Red Beer Wagon.
Here’s more information on the Clydesdales’ tour stops:
- Saturday: Club Square, 4706 S.E. 11th Place, Cape Coral. 3-5 p.m.
- Sunday: McGregor Pointe Shopping Center, 15271 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers. 3-5 p.m.
- Monday: The Shell Factory & Nature Park, 16554 N. Cleveland Ave. North Fort Myers. 2-4 p.m.
- Tuesday: Century Link Sports Complex, 14100 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, south Fort Myers. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. They’ll appear outside the complex.
No other tour stops are scheduled for Naples, Bonita Springs or elsewhere in Southwest Florida, according to the tour schedule on Budweiser's website.
Each Budweiser Clydesdale stands about 6 feet tall and weighs about 2,000 pounds. They’re bay-colored with four white legs, a blaze of white on the face, and a black mane and tail.
Every Clydesdale hitch travels with a Dalmatian dog — a throwback to the early days of beer brewing, when Dalmatians were bred and trained to guard the wagon and horses while out on beer deliveries.
