Restaurant brings Boston to Bonita Sprints

Boston in Bonita
Lansdowne Street restaurant in Bonita Springs offers atmosphere and menu salute to Beantown legacy.
It looks like Boston moved right into Bonita Springs. Lansdowne Street, with
its brick and dark wood interior and Red Sox memorabilia, looks like it belongs in New England. Red Sox pennants hang on the wall, there’s a Red Sox jersey, posters and other items from the baseball team. If there’s any sporting event happening in New England, that’s what’s broadcast on the televisions around the restaurant.
Sometimes a jukebox plays popular tunes. Other times there’s live music. A real work-ing fireplace burns in one corner. There is both indoor and outdoor seating at Lansd-owne Street, all with the same Boston flavor.
That flavor continues in the gourmet sandwiches, hearty soups and salads. There are paninis, flatbreads and burgers, too. Keeping with the Boston theme, many of the menu items take their names from The Olde Towne. For the kids, The Orange Line is a turkey or ham sandwich, The Blue Line is peanut butter and jelly, The Red Line is a hot dog, and the Green Line is a grilled cheese sandwich. All children’s items are $6.
I chose an entrée from the Fan Favorite section of the menu, a gyro and Greek salad, $12. The gyro was filled with lamb and the “small salad” was actually quite big. My daughter had the Tremont Street, $12. It’s a panini filled with turkey, guacamole, ranch, tomato and Swiss cheese. It comes with a side, and she chose baked beans.
“They were really delicious,” Kristyn says. My husband selected The Revolution,
$12, which is a French dip, and he picked shoestring fries as his side. The meals came quickly, and the server was very diligent in filling and refilling our glasses with ice water.
The restaurant gets its unusual name
from Lansdowne Street, which is a road outside Fenway Park where visitors can find numerous bars and restaurants. South-west Florida’s Lansdowne Street would
fit right in.
