Hot chocolate bombs are the new and trendy spin to a classic winter staple.
A hot cocoa bomb is basically a hollow chocolate ball filled with marshmallows and hot cocoa mix. The neat treat turns any mug of hot milk into a steaming mug of hot chocolate, complete with marshmallows, in a matter of seconds.
Recipes vary, but here are the basics.

You'll need:
- Melting chocolate
- Hot chocolate powder
- Marshmallows, sprinkles, or any other fillings you want to personalize with
- Milk
- Silicone semi-sphere molds (like this one) — You'll need at least 2 to make one bomb
- Your favorite holiday mug
Steps:
- Melt chocolate and coat your molds
- Let cool in the refrigerator until the chocolate is solid
- After taking the chocolate off the molds, fill one half of the bomb with hot chocolate powder, marshmallows, and other fillings
- Melt the rim of the other half of the bomb and set on top of the filled half
- Refrigerate again to seal the bomb together
When you're ready, simply place your hot chocolate bomb in your mug and pour warmed milk on top!
