On Halloween night, kids all over Southwest Florida hit the streets in costume to collect as much candy as they can carry. Then there are the off-Halloween events, like trunk-or-treat or fall festivals. It can feel like an avalanche of sugar.
Save your little one’s pearly whites with a candy buy-back program. Several dentists and orthodontists in the area usually offer them, and they generally pay $1 a pound.
Here are the candy buyback programs we know of so far:
Children's Dentistry of Naples hosts its 8th annual Cash for Candy, where kids can sell back their candy for $1 per pound up to $10 per person, 8 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4:30 p.m. November 4-7. The candy will be donated to U.S. troops serving overseas. Location: Dr. Gerardo Santiago’s Children’s Dentistry of Naples, 3021 Airport Road North, Suite 203, Naples. 239-262-3898. childrensdentistryofnaples.com
Gulf Coast Orthodontics buys back candy November 4-8 during normal office hours. Location: 14361 Metropolis Ave., Suite 1, Fort Myers. 239-561-2258. drlaboda.com
We'll add more as we learn of them.
