Young Eagles Rally and Pancake Breakfast
Kids ages 11 and older can experience their first flight for free through the Young Eagles program. Volunteer pilots give the kids instruction and then take them in the air. A pancake breakfast follows ($6 per person, cash only). The program is designed to introduce youth age 11-17 to general aviation.
The number of flights flown are dependent on weather, flight conditions (on the ground) and available pilots. Flights may be halted or cancelled without prior notice.
The minimum age to fly is 11 years old (no exceptions). A parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the waiver and be on site during the flight. Children younger than 11 may participate in the instruction class and walk-around of the aircraft but they cannot fly.
The February 2 Young Eagles Rally is at the EAA Chapter 66 House at the Page Field airport. Participants enter via Metro Parkway to Landing View Road. There will be a person at the gate to be buzzed/escorted in.
Registration in advance is required.
Please note all Young Eagles must arrive and be present no later than 8:10 am.
EAA Chapter 66 does not provide free ongoing flight lessons. Obtaining a pilot's license is very expensive and time consuming. If your child has already had their free flight, there are a number of resources available in researching the next steps of their aviation journey.
