to
Veterans’ Community Park 901 Park Ave., Marco Island, Florida 34145
The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial along with a mobile Education Center, is on view and open to the public through Sunday, February 23. The exhibit is open 24 hours a day and is free of charge for visitors.
The Wall That Heals honors the more than 3 million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed forces in the Vietnam War and it bears the names of the 58,276 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. It is modeled after the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., which is designed by Maya Lin.
More than 300,000 people visited The Wall That Heals exhibit in 2019. Since its debut in 1996, the exhibit has been on display in nearly 600 U.S. communities in addition to an April 1999 tour of the Four Provinces of Ireland and a visit to Canada in 2005. The Wall replica is 375 feet in length and stands 7.5 feet high at its tallest point. Volunteer “readers” will be on site to publicly read 1,954 names of Floridians who died serving their country in Vietnam
