National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day
to
Royal Scoop Homemade Ice Cream 15 Eighth St., Bonita Springs, Florida 34134
According to legend, this day was started in the 1960s by a mom in upstate New York as a way to entertain her bored children on a cold winter morning. She decided to do something completely out of the norm for her family and declared it to be Ice Cream for Breakfast Day! And so the tradition began, as her kids reminded her the next year of the special day, and year after year they celebrated.
Even though it is hard to get stuck in a winter funk here in sunny Southwest Florida, Royal Scoop promises to do its best to continue the tradition anyway.
Everyone is invited on Saturday, February 1, at the original Bonita Springs location from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Staff will serve up fresh homemade waffles topped with homemade ice cream, fruit and whipped cream. You can go for a traditional flavor or try one of the special “breakfast” flavors...like Maple Bacon Donut or Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
There will also be fresh coffee, orange juice and fruit to complete the meal.
