The Lee County school district launched daily activities to help students and families show their love for local educators as part of Teacher Appreciation Week. The national celebration runs May 4-8.
Participants can find resources on the district's website, leeschools.net and are encouraged to tag the school system's Facebook (@schooldistrictofleecounty) and Twitter (@leeschools) accounts in their posts. The school system suggests using #ThankaTeacher and #LoveLeeSchools on the posts, too.
- Monday: Tell your teacher thanks through a Google Classroom note
- Tuesday: Email a thank you note to the teachers you know, and, at noon, go outside your home and record yourself shouting out thanks to the teachers in your life.
- Wednesday: Send teachers a "virtual award." A certificate template can be found on the district website.
- Thursday: Post a picture of your favorite teacher
- Friday: Take a selfie while holding up a handwritten thank-you note or make a video for your teachers.
